Spencer Museum of Art Student Advisory Board Juried Art Show

The relationship of technology and nature affects our lives on a daily basis. Losing power during a thunderstorm, advancements in wind energy, and the development of artificial intelligence are just a few examples of how technology and nature interact.

Students submitting work for Technology/Nature were encouraged to explore links between these two sectors to provide a better understanding of each. Some works portray a stark contrast, even conflict between the two, while others acknowledge that technology and nature can exist in harmony.

Technology/Nature is the first juried show organized by the Spencer Museum of Art Student Advisory Board. The Board developed this project as a way to connect the work of KU students with the themes and ideas explored by exhibitions at the Spencer. We hope to continue this project annually.

Student Advisory Board jury members: Lillian Boyce, Charles Bray, Sarah Bluvas, Elizabeth Cattell, Brenna Daldorph, Lauren Doshier, Sierra Falter, Lindsay Major, Kirsten Marples, Melissa Melling, Kara Smith, Megan Turner and Katie Wetzel.

A special thanks to Susan Earle, Curator of European & American Art, for her guidance and participation on the jury.
