Fifty-two lithographs by Guillaume-Sulpice chevallier (1804-66) known as Gavarni, depicting revelers at the pre-Lenten masquerade balls. Like his contemporary Daumier, Gavarni was famous for his image of Paris life and manners. The exhibition is from the Yale University Art Gallery.
