The Log Cabin quilt, first introduced around 1850, has become a central part of the American quiltmaking tradition. A symbol of the pioneer movement, the quilts demonstrate a range of dazzling visual effects and provide ample evidence of the creativity of the quilters who designed and made them. Nine quilts selected from the Museum's outstanding collection and on loan will be displayed in the White Gallery.
