Description

This exhibition explores the nature and extent of Leonardo's influence on his less well-known contemporaries by presenting drawings (and one painting) by some of the more vigorous and selective of his imitators. Twenty works by artists who either worked directly with Leonardo, or studied his work fairly carefully during his own lifetime or shortly thereafter, are included. Most of the works are loaned from the Pierpont Morgan Library, Harvard University Art Museums, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Janos Scholz Collection. An exhibition brochure by Curator Laura Giles, who organized the show, is available. The exhibition is funded in part by the Museum's corporate and business program.
