Description

This exhibition is a celebration of the contributions of African-American quilt makers to the quilt making art. It traces for the first time the history of African-American quilts and the persons who made them from the antebellum period to the present. Organized by the Kentucky Quilt Project, Inc. and curator Cuesta Benberry, the exhibition at the Spencer Museum of Art was supported by grants from Hallmark Cards, Inc., Payless ShoeSource, and the Kansas Arts Commission.
