A selection of works from the permanent collection were shown to celebrate the 25th anniversary of African and African American studies at the University of Kansas. Paintings, sculpture, prints, and photography, many of them acquired in the past five years, were shown, some for the first time. Artists represented included Frederick John Eversley, Faith Ringgold, Carrie Mae Weems, Kansas native Gordon Parks, Glenn Lignon, Alison Saar, Jacob Lawrence, and KU graduate John Newman.
