The 80 paintings, textiles, and woodblocks, drawn primarily from American collections, illustrate both the Chinese adaption of Buddhism and the interaction between Chinese Buddhism and that of other Asian countries. The exhibition was organized be Marsha Weidner, associate professor of Chinese art in the Kress Foundation Department of Art History at the University of Kansas, and was supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
