Painted scene of figures in an interior. There is a full-length female figure kneeling on the left (identified as Cleopatra) wearing a white dress and mantle trimmed in gold. She is looking down and her face is in three-quarters view. There are two standing male figures on the right; the one in front (identified as Augustus) is wearing a white and gold tunic and draped in red fabric. He extends his proper right hand, palm up, toward the woman. The man behind him is wearing a blue cloak. A pedestal and column base are visible in the top left corner. In the center left is a gilded sculpture with a winged woman-beast (chimera?). The background is blue/gray.
