Description
Literature

Pattern from circa 1840. Illustrated in "Quilts and Their Story" by Marie D. Webster (p. 92-93). A large stylized rose with a yellow patterned center with four points that lead to the border of small pink patterned half-circles. The rose ends in seven pointy leaves that shoot out towards the border. A short stem with leaves grows from the bottom left hand side to the flower. The background of the block is white. This is a combined effect of piecing and applique.
