Illustrated in "Quilts and Their Story" by Marie D. Webster (p. 101). The LeMoyne brothers settled in Louisiana in 1699 and founded New Orleans in 1718. This piece speaks of a Louisiana-French inspiration, however it is slightly odd and distinctly American. A single large red and pink flower with a protruding red and pink tip grows from the bottom right hand side of the piece towards the top left hand side.
