Pattern from circa 1850. Illustrated in "Quilts and Their Story" by Marie D. Webster (p. 74). A large pink and red rose with a yellow center dominates the middle of the piece. From it grow four stems which end in leaves pointing towards each of the four corners. Four large red buds also grow from the stems and curve toward each other to form a spiral shape.
