Description

3/4 portrait of a man in 3/4 profile. He looks across his right shoulder toward the left side of the composition. He stands against a non-descript background with his arms bent at the elbows and hands clasped at his waist. His left hand lies on top of his right, which grasp a pair of gloves. He wears a ruff, button lined outer garment with a belt and a cloak over his right shoulder. The inscription identifies the man as the Antwerp art collector Cornelis van der Geest.
