Description

Half length portrait of a man in 3/4 profile. His slightly balding hair is cropped short and he wears a long flowing beard and mustache. He stands before a non-descript background with his right arm bent across his chest as his right hand grasps part of his cloak. His left arm is bent at the elbow as his hand rests on fictive edge of the picture plane and slightly overlaps the inscription below. The man holds a compass in his left hand. The inscription identifies the man as Jacob de Breuk.
