Description

Half length portrait of a man in 3/4 profile. He looks out of the composition towards the left and sits before a bookshelf filled with tomes partially obscured by a swath of drapery. His right arm rests on an open book with three fingers of his hand curled in between pages. His left hand is not visible. The inscription identifies the man as Erycius Puteanus.
