Half lenfth portrait of a man sitting in a chair with a draped cloth in the background. The man wears a fur lined outer robe and fur lined hat. His left arm and hand rest on the arm of the chair and his missing right arm is enveloped in his garments. The inscription identifies the man as Martin Rychart (also spelled Ryckaert), a one-armed painter from Antwerp.
