Description

Bust of man looking over his shoulder that rests on a rounded pedestal set against a clouded sky and distant landscape. The bust is on top of a decorated pedestal which has a bust of a helmeted man on either side. The man on the right with a winged helmet and caduceus resting along the diagonal of his shoulder is Mercury. The man on the left with a laurel wreath around his helmet and trumpet resting along the diagonal of his his shoulder is Fame or Victory. The text along the front of the pedestal identifies the large bust of the man looking over his shoulder as the artist Anthony van Dyck.
