Combination of scenes one and two into one composition. Foreground, scene between Rikiya and Konami wtih Tonase overhearing. In the background scene, Honzō presents a pine branch to Wakasahosuke. Honzō has just cut off the branch with his fan (in some versions, small sword), to demonstrate to his master how he should deal with his premises. Chūshingura border.
Possibly to commemorate the staging of the Chūshingura at the Ichiwaya Theatre in Edo, 11.5.1858.
