Description

Calligraphy screen and snowy garden scene in background. Five figures in foreground. Rikiya attacks his father-in-law Henzō. Konami, Tonase, and Oishi stand by. Screen with play title, artist, and publisher.
Possibly made to commemorate the staging of Chūshingura at the Ichimuryo theatre in Edo starting 11-05-1858.
