Landscape dominated by body of water covering bottom half of composition. Horizontal orientation, rectangular image with quarter circles cut out from each corner. Two large ships with sails and figures at center foreground of composition. Other ships scattered throughout right background and left middle ground. Mountains cut across background from right, trailing off near the left. Blue, brown, gray and red are dominant colors with large areas of no color.
