Road curves through composition from bottom left corner to center right to center left. Trees line road, open fields on either side, people walking along road. Foreground, bottom center, three figures on road, two smoking pipes, other carrying goods. Figure rests against tree, seated, bottom right corner. Two figures sit picnicking, lower left. Trunk of large tree dominates center. Vibrant colors, predominantly brown, and green, with some blue, yellow, red, and orange.
