Sampler is divided into thirds. Lower third is an overall design using needlepoint lace. Middle third shows eight different blocks demonstrating different techniques-all geometric, with a rectangle in the center. The upper third is floral with decorative borders. An oval in the top center has an inscription (possibly memorial) and a mermaid on either side. There is a bird and basket of flowers to the left of the oval and a basket of flowers and a heart pierced with an arrow to the right. Colors: blues, brown, gray, greens, pink, red, white, and yellow on white. Cut and drawn work are included.
