Description

The Statue of Liberty is visible in the center of this card. There are several ships of different types surrounding the statue in New York Harbor. A small boat, possibly a tugboat, flies and American flag in the foreground. The year “1892” is the caption. In the bottom right corner is the trademark symbol for Clark’s Spool Cotton. The bottom left corner of the image is signed “F. S. Cozzens 92.”
The verso is an advertisement for the product. At the top of the card is information about this print: “1892 Naval Review, New York Harbor on the occasion of the four hundredth anniversary of the discovery of America by Cristopher Columbus. There are 2 cards in this series. The other is ‘1492’ The Santa Maria.” A name, possibly a seller of this product, is stamped across the back: “C. A. Wyandt.”
