A shoe acts as a bird nest in a bush. Three baby birds inside the shoe and an adult bird on its top shriek at a cat. The cat is pulling a fourth baby bird out through the ruined tip of the shoe. In the top left corner of the card is an admonishment: “A Child’s Shoe without the Black Tip upon the Toe does not even make a safe Birds nest.”
The verso is a text advertisement for Bryan, Brown Shoe Co.’s celebrated fine shoes. They are sold by E. P. Shaeffer, Abilene, Kansas.
