Description
Inscriptions/Signature

A plowed field stretches toward the horizon; the furrows are vertical from this perspective. A larger-than-life face is above the horizon line. The only parts of the face that are depicted are their eyes, eyebrows, and the top half of their nose. What appear to be larger-than-life hands frame the field on the left and right side of the image. The artist has inscribed text at the bottom: “Al Presidente Carlos Salinas de Gortari, porque avizora el porvenir de Mexico como lo soñó la mirada de Emiliano Zapata” (loosely translated as “To President Carlos Salinas de Gortari, because he envisions the future of Mexico as he dreamed the look of Emiliano Zapata”).
