Description

Image depicting assorted figures holding baseball bats and chains, executed in black, tan, and white. Descriptive text integrated into the image. Text refers to the mine strike in the towns of Clifton and Morence in Arizona in 1983. Because the (predominantly male) employees were not permitted to participate in picket lines, women of the communities held the picket lines for a year and a half. At the end of the strike, the Phelps Dodge Copper Corporation was forced to close.
