Long, thin flute made from a piece of bamboo, stained brown, with five segments. Down the front of the flute, there are a total of 13 finger holes, in distinct groups. There are five widely spaced finger holes near the center, then six closely spaced finger holes, followed by two more individual holes, toward the end, one of which is covered with clear adhesive tape. In one of the end segments there is a cluster or water lilies and a single bird in flight, painted in shades of green, white and pink. In the center segment, there are Chinese characters painted in white.
