Scabbard is decorated with chrysanthemums and paulownia blossoms. These motifs are enlivened by metallic effects achieved by layering transparent and translucent enamels over crumpled silver foil. A dragon encircles the hilt, and the pommel is finished with a brass cap. Matching tsuba is original and also enameled on both sides.
