Description

A detailed view of sculptural elements on the west facade of Wells Cathedral. Sculpted within the recesses of two quatrefoils located on either side of a gable-like decoration are scenes from the story of the Garden of Eden and the creation of woman. In the left quatrefoil, Adam sleeps against a branch-like form. From his side, Eve emerges. In the right quatrefoil, a nude figure embraces a clothed, haloed figure as the haloed figure leans against a tree.
