Description

An exterior view of the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua looking southeast. The Basilica is comprised of many styles. The tall round domes extending above the main facade are Byzantine in style. The center portal of the facade is Romanesque in style while the rest of the facade is Gothic. Four pointed arches spring from the central entrance. An arcaded balcony surmounts the portal and spans the width of the facade. Two mullioned windows frame a rose window on the gable, which surmounts the balcony. An equestrian statue of Condottiero Gattamelata stands in the courtyard towards the left of the facade.
