Description

In interior view of the Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark looking towards the iconostasis. The iconostasis consists of a lower rail with an arcade of columns surmounting it. Stairs lead to the opening of the entrance to the altar. Above the columns, a decorated frieze of geometric figures supports the statues of the twelve apostles, the Virgin Mary and Saint Mark. The crucifix stands in the center. To the left of the iconostasis is the pulpit and to the right is a pulpit-esque balcony with chairs stacked underneath.
