Description

An exterior view of the main facade of Certosa di Pavia. The facade contains one entrance. The entrance is framed by two columns on each side and surmounted by a domed archway. Separating the two stories is a loggia. The loggia is reminiscent of the triforium of a Gothic cathedral. The central feature of the facade is the second story circular window. The window is enclosed by an engaged column on each side and surmounted with a triangular pediment. Sculptures decorate the entirety of the facade.
