Description

A frontal, architectural view of the excavation sight of the Temple of Isis in Pompeii. Central of the composition, the Hellenistic style temple facade stands in partial ruin due to the passage of time. The main columns that would support the portico have lost their upper drums. Towards the left of the frame, an archway denotes entry into the courtyard before the temple. The sun casts shadows from the west, echoing each other.
