Description

Architectural view of a circular, domed temple-like structure located in the center of one of the courtyards of the monastery at San Pietro in Montorio. The building operates as a chapel and commemorates the location of where St. Peter is said to have been crucified. Built by Donato Bramante around 1502, the structure consists of a circular peristyle entrance with Doric columns. On top of the peristyle entryway sits a balustrade.
