Description

A front, architectural view of the Jean Goujon Entrance (Porte Jean Goujon) at The Louvre Museum. A double door entryway framed by a stone archway. Directly above the door, an arched window with decorative iron work visually heighten the entryway. The pair of stone columns to the left and right of the door have foliated registers. Each register possesses a varying degree of design. Above the columns separating the first and second level of the building, a frieze of various animals, foliage, putti, and coats of arms appear in high relief. On the second level of the facade, a mezzanine leads to a window which is framed by an arch. The sides of the arch display the royal initial of King Henri II.
