Description

Architectural view of the front exterior of The Basilica of San Marco. The marble facade is decorated with mosaics. The bezel of the central portal is decorated in Romanesque style, with a Judgement, framed by three carved arches of different sizes, which show a series of Prophets, Virtues of religious and civil, Allegories of the months, the crafts and other symbolic scenes with animals and putti. These pads combine oriental influences and the Lombard Romanesque. By raised arches of the upper, decorated in style flamboyant Gothic , the statues of the cardinal virtues and the theological , four holy warriors and San Marco watch over the city. Over the central window, under San Marco, is a winged lion.
