Sarasvati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and learning, is seated on a lotus in a pond. She rests her feet on a swan, which is regarded as her vehicle. She holds a musical instrument, representing all creative arts and sciences, in her right hand, while in her left hand holding two books that symbolize all forms of learning and universal knowledge.
