The main title is printed at the top of the page is the main title and below the image there is the subtitle and explanatory text. In the center is a rectangular image of a standing soldier, possibly identified as American, in very large scale, occupying most of the image and carrying a bayonetted gun in his hands. The figure is beige with white highlights. He stands at the front of a steam ship that is small in scale. Behind the soldier on the facing right is another smaller figure, identified as George Washington, and a very large American flag. On the lower facing right corner is a silhouette of the Statue of Liberty with a spotlight shining from the torch, illuminating a large section of the print.
