Description
Inscriptions/Signature

Drawing hand colored with watercolor(?) of a man with white hair and wearing a blue coat and facing toward his right. In his proper right hand he holds a French flag. In the background is a charging French army on the facing left side and a church or cathedral on the facing right side. The figure's proper left hand is pointing toward the word "STRASBOURG" on the bottom facing right and a black bird identified as the German Imperial Eagle. Around the outside of the drawing is a border of red, blue, and unpainted stripes. Below the figure, the title is painted inside a rectangle. On the back of the sheet there is a small pencil drawing of the same image.
