The image possibly depicts the German attack on Rheims (20 September 1914) and the destruction of Rheims Cathedral, the image is of the cathedral façade partially covered in billows of smoke, debris is falling to the ground, very small figures of the dead are seen laying in front of the cathedral while others are running away from the destruction.
