Description

Tall thin vertical wood carving of a stylized female figure. The features of the face are carved in relief and there is a tall ridge on the top of the head that extends front to back. On the proper right cheek there is a small incised cross shape and on the proper left cheek there is a long incised diagonal line. The features of the body are mostly undifferentiated except for two triangular projections indicating breasts. The body is incised with a series of vertical and diagonal lines. Areas of the sculpture have been rubbed with a dark brown stain, especially around the shoulders, on the ridge of the head, and in the incised lines.
