A ceramic sculpture in the shape of a basketball and covered in encaustic. The outlines of the basketball are visible, as well as the logo "Wilson" on the sides. The color of the field is light beige and the surface is decorated with lines made up of small circles pressed into the surface, then rubbed with colored pigment. At the topo of the ball there is cross shape with arms that flare out widely at the ends. The cross is filled with parallel lines of small circles and the outer edges have thin lines radiating out. The cross is rubbed with light blue pigment. On the sides of the ball there are nine flower shapes resembling stylized tulips. The petals and the leaves are long and angular with sharp points at the tops and the shapes are entirely filled in with small impressions of circles. All of the leaves and stems are rubbed with dark green pigment and the petals on eight of the flowers are rubbed with reddish brown pigment and one flower is rubbed with light blue pigment. At the bottom of the ball there is a wide band of small circles joined together with thin lines to create repeating squares in a net-like pattern.
