A ceramic sculpture in the shape of a basketball and covered in encaustic. The outlines of the basketball are visible, as well as the logo "Wilson" on the sides. The color is light blue and the surface is decorated with lines made up of small circles pressed into the surface, then rubbed with more blue pigment. At the top of the ball, there is a five-pointed star that is filled in with small X or cross shapes and there is a circle in the center. On opposite sides of the ball there are pairs of flags with horizontal stripes and small cross shapes and the flags are on thin poles that cross at the bottom. In the spaces between the flag pairs there are flowers with rounded petals and with long stems or vines extending around the sides of the ball. Several areas of the field are covered in small, four-pointed X or cross shapes.
