Description

This book includes hand-printed Japanese and German versions of author Shimizu Yoshinori's essay about Japanese entrance exams. The German texts read from left to right and the Japanese texts begin from right to left at the "back" of the book for a Western reader. The sheets are also printed with a pattern of marks used to evaulate student work ranging from "done very well" to "normal" up to "try harder." The book is encased in a cloth cover that resembles Omamori charms sold in Shinto shrines.
