Below them, a city (identified as Paris) and surrounding countryside stretch out in teal fading to purple with lights picked out in pale yellow. The Seine river winds along the right edge of the image, bisected by a white searchlight. Other plane, one of which is on fire, stretch into the middle ground in the upper left.
