Description
Inscriptions/Signature

A white-mustachioed man (identified as French General Maurice Paul Emmanuel Sarrail) wearing tall black boots and a tan military uniform and cap stands with his hands behind his back in front of stairs and a walkway. Behind him, beyond a wall or barricade, coast outlines a bay upon which float three ships. During November, 1915, Sarrail was establishing the Allied Camp de Salonique on the Greek Island of Thessaloniki.
