Description

Exterior. At center, the Soldiers and Sailor Memorial Arch (the first permanent triumphal arch in America) in Hartford, Connecticut. Terra cotta angels top the two towers. Friezes on both the northern and southern sides of the arch tell stories of wartime and peacetime. In the foreground, water reflects the arch and the bridge it is over.
