Description

In the left foreground a newly built railroad track curves and follows along the contours of the mountain [identified as Siskiyou Mountains California] disappearing around the bend. On the rise to the left of the track are three wooden buildings nestled amongst evergreen trees. Below, another railroad track disappears into the dark maw of a tunnel dug into the mountain’s side. In the right foreground are a sparse grouping of trees denuded of much of their foliage. Beyond, the evergreens are fuller and more densely packed together.
