Description

Receding at a diagonal from the viewer, a one-story arcade topped by a red Spanish-style clay tile roof occupies the center of the composition. Immediately adjacent to this structure is a building featuring a large cross at its apex. [Building complex identified as Mission San Antonio]. A lush expanse of grass and flowers occupies much of the foreground. Positioned on the lawn are low-lying vertical blocks (made of wood or stone?) and, to the right, taller wooden columns, two of them topped by carved portrait busts of bearded men.
