The composition of the painting is arranged into two parts. In the foreground is a rock platform beside a river shore. On the platform a few trees rise and frame the thatched cottages behind them. In the distance, mountain cliffs file one after another. A dense array of trees cap the mountain peaks. Dry and rough brushstrokes give a jagged shape to the rock formations, which are light-orange in color.
