Description

Ceramic teapot with lid that is glazed in a dark blue-gray color. The teapot has a short, wide body. On one side there is a rounded handle with a raised ridge at the top of the handle. The spout is on the opposite side and is short, wide, and slightly curved. The spout is wider at the bottom and tapers at the end. The lid of the teapot sits inside a lip around the top opening of the teapot. The lid is cone shaped and has a flattened knob at the top.
The pattern in the glaze is a crosshatch pattern around most of the body of the teapot and there are elongated diamond shapes on the lid. The glaze is a deep greenish brown color that is mottled with dark brown and reddish brown. The inside of both the teapot and the lid is also glazed with dark greenish brown glaze. The clay is reddish brown in color.
